Sunday's Food Tip: Serving Fabulous French Toast

M-m-m…there’s nothing quite as fabulous as a breakfast of French toast on a lazy Sunday morning. But don’t enjoy this delightful dish thinking you’re sharing a part of history with the French. There probably isn’t anything "French" about this toast made with day old bread dipped in an egg batter and then fried.

No one seems to know just where French toast got its start. But a popular story credits a man named Joseph French, owner of a roadside tavern near Albany, N.Y. in 1724, with inventing this breakfast favorite.

Next time you prepare French toast for family or guests, sprinkle each plate with a little ground cinnamon before adding the toast. The plates will look fabulous. Why, even Joseph French would be impressed!
