Make your fall hikes even more enjoyable by taking along some homemade trail mix. It’s so easy. Just combine your family’s favorite roasted nuts, dried fruits, dry cereals, etc.

Here’s a good basic trail mix recipe, but you can add or subtract ingredients to your own tastes:

Younger kids will love Speedy Trail Mix made with TEDDY GRAHAMS graham snacks. They can even help make it!

If you want a fancier trail mix, try some Sugared Cranberry Trail Mix. You might want to pack it in decorative tins and use it as gifts for the fall and winter holidays.

Once you’ve made up a batch of your favorite trail mix, pack it in small plastic resealable bags (one for each person), then hit the trail.
