January is National Hot Tea Month, so start the New Year right. Relax and unwind with a nice cup of soothing hot tea.
According to the Tea Council of the USA - scientists have found that tea contains antioxidants, substances that can reduce oxidative damage in the body, helping to maintain healthy cells and tissues. The latest epidemiological research suggests that drinking black tea may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
"It's no longer a matter of considering just the vitamin and mineral content of our diets. People now need to recognize that foods and beverages can contribute important phytonutrients like the antioxidant flavonoids," said Dr. Jeffrey Blumberg, PhD, FACN, chief of the Antioxidants Research Laboratory at Tufts University. "Flavonoid-rich and virtually calorie-free, tea is an ideal choice for those looking for a delicious drink that fits perfectly into a healthy diet."
Wow! Looks like tea is good for the body as well as the mind and spirit. No wonder January is National Hot Tea Month.

"Yes, that's it,' said the Hatter with a sigh: 'it's always tea-time, and we've no time to wash the things between whiles."
