Saturday's Food Tip: Add Pizazz to Most Any Chocolate Dessert

Today’s tips are from Carol Boles of Belton, Missouri. Carol offers two ways to add pizazz to almost any chocolate dessert this summer.

"It’s easy to make fancy chocolate curls to garnish a special pie or cake," says Carol. "Warm a block of chocolate in the microwave on HIGH for five to ten seconds. Then, draw a sharp vegetable peeler down the side of the chocolate. Apply firm pressure for thick, more open curls, or light pressure for thinner, tighter curls.

"Another way to add pizazz to a chocolate dessert is with a simple Raspberry Sauce," suggests Carol. "Place 2/3 cup of seedless raspberry jam into a microwaveable bowl. Heat on HIGH for 45 to 60 seconds, or until thin. In a swirling, motion, drizzle one tablespoon of jam onto each dessert plate."
